Pentaho 5.4.0 GA Release

Pentaho is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Pentaho Business Analytics 5.4. This latest release announces support for integration with two popular big data technologies, Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR) and SAP HANA, as the big data universe evolves and expands to the cloud.

Pentaho 5.4 also includes our first supported Apache Spark capability, the Spark Job Executor which enables Pentaho Data Integration to execute Spark applications taking advantage of Pentaho Data Integration’s error logging, job-restart and scheduling.

Additional enhancements in Pentaho 5.4 include:

  • New Embedded Analytics APIs
  • Named Hadoop Clusters Settings Replication
  • Business Analytics Server Utility Plugin
  • Streamlined Data Refinery Annotation/Automodeling: Reuse/sharing capabilities for metadata and dimensional tables; support for more complex schemas, including star schema
  • PDI REST API Documentation
  • Cloudera 5.3 and MongoDB 3.0 Support
  • Supported language packs in French, German and Japanese to help reach a broader group of users
  • A refreshed look for Pentaho Data Integration icons
